POSITION SUMMARY
The Regional IT Support Lead 1 position is accountable for guiding and coordinating the IT efforts at USG/Phillips plants including out of state locations. The incumbent will build relationships with process controls and plant management within his/her geography. He/she will serve as a liaison between Phillips/Clinch-On and USG Corporate IT, to ensure that plant IT initiatives align with USG IT standards and priorities at manufacturing facilities. The position will set priorities, follow-up, track performance and allocate resources based on overall IT objectives and goals.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Guide and coordinate the IT support activities at the plants within a defined region.
· Ensure established IT standards are followed at plants within his/her region.
· When non-standard infrastructure or processes are discovered, take appropriate steps to remediate plants within his/her region.
· Manage technical training programs within their region. As new technologies are introduced, assist in communicating and establish appropriate training.
· Assist in remote management of local servers and area networks.
· Serve as an escalation point for more complex technical issues that require a higher level of expertise and cannot be resolved by the first point of contact, (help desk or the onsite Tech Support personnel).
· Monitor and support Omaha HQ and remote Phillips/Clinch-On and USG sites.
· Assist with the administration of computer inventory and refreshes.
· Implement the established vision with priorities and allocation of resources to best achieve company and regional goals.
· Utilize Cisco and MS Teams VoIP tools to manage main office and plant telephony.
· Work with plant management within their region to identify upcoming capital projects.
· Assist with scoping IT hardware and software requirements for capital projects.
· Work in tandem with process controls to support and troubleshoot.
· Manage and coordinate multiple parties to facilitate major network infrastructure projects.
· Position will require some off-hours work.
· Lead Regional Call where warranted.
· Establish regular interactions with operators and plant staff within a region.
· Provide back-up coverage for other regions when necessary.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred or significant work experience and certifications
Experience/Requirements
· One to five years in IT support or as a Regional IT Lead or similar capacity and able to support: Windows, Desktop, Servers, Networking, Data/Voice, ISE
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant and Corporate IT personnel
· Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively; strong customer service skills
· Must be self-directed and able to work independently
· Proven intermediate project management skills
· Proven problem solving and ability to judge when issues need to be escalated and when enterprise-wide decisions will have a negative impact on plant operation
· Able to travel within designated geography approximately 25%
· Able to learn new technology as needed to meet the requirements of the position
Certifications Preferred:
· A+ PC Technician
· Network+ PC Technician
· Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
· Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
