Title: Continuous Improvement Lead
CGC Inc. is a leading marketer, manufacturer and distributor of gypsum wallboard products, interior finishing material and suspended acoustical ceilings. With locations around the world, CGC and USG have the resources, plants, products, and people to build walls, ceilings, and careers.
CGC Inc. Is currently recruiting a Continuous Improvement Lead for our Calgary, Alberta plant.
Role & Responsibilities:
· Coordinate Continuous Improvement (CI) projects across all Calgary plant departments using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
· Take part in leading the CI management systems and activities such as reflection boards and meetings, Gemba walks, CI cards, and area boards.
· Facilitate and execute CI problem-solving events, including A3s, Kaizens, DMAIC projects, and 5S.
· Train and coach employees on CI concepts and how to effectively perform and lead CI activities.
· Develop visual aids and metrics to track and improve department performance.
· Participate in LEAN Management Training as required
· Works with Plant leadership to select charter projects and then executes to achieve an effective outcome.
· Positions continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant by fostering strong collaboration. Includes working effectively with cross functional teams.
· Understands statistical analysis tools/methodology, project management, Lean Six Sigma, Quality, and basic financial principles and applies them to analyze the planned activities
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification is an asset.
· Knowledge in 5S and Six Sigma methodologies
· Minimum of two years experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or distribution preferred
· Experience in a supervisory role is a plus, but not required.
· Excellent project management skills, with the ability to participate simultaneously in several projects and teams.
· Creativity and ability to think outside of the box.
· Strong engagement skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and help the team reach a consensus around common goals.
· Ability to successfully complete the Green Belt certification process if candidate does not possess.
· Proficient computer skills, including MS Office applications.
