Sourcing Specialist Role Description
Position Overview
The Sourcing Analyst plays a key role in executing sourcing strategies for raw materials that support operations across the United States and Canada. This role partners closely with our business stakeholders, manufacturing, supply chain planning, and suppliers to ensure reliable supply, competitive cost structures, and strong supplier performance.
The Sourcing Analyst manages multiple commodity and strategic categories, supports contract negotiations, analyzes supply markets, and drives continuous improvement initiatives that reduce cost while maintaining or improving quality and service. The role is part of a collaborative Strategic Sourcing team and offers exposure to complex, high-impact categories within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop & execute sourcing strategies for 10–15 commodity categories, representing approximately $100M in annual spend.
Partner with internal stakeholders to drive cost reduction, supply reliability, and operational efficiency.
Analyze global and regional supply markets, including competitive dynamics, availability constraints, and pricing trends.
Support contract negotiations with suppliers to achieve quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
Serve as the primary relationship manager for 25–50 suppliers, with accountability for supplier performance and rationalization.
Monitor and improve supplier performance related to cost, quality, delivery, and service.
Identify and evaluate alternative and competitive supply options to mitigate risk and optimize value.
Collaborate with production planners to assess tradeoffs when supply constraints or cost-saving opportunities arise.
Drive annual cost reduction targets while maintaining or improving product quality and service levels.
Gather and analyze data related to spend, supplier performance, and supply continuity.
Identify and implement process improvements and efficiency opportunities across sourcing and supplier management activities.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal business partners.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field required.
Experience
3–5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, project management, or a related discipline.
Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and support fact-based decision making.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
Demonstrated attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Highly motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience or working knowledge of Power BI and AI-enabled analytical tools preferred Experience with raw materials, minerals, and manufacturing supply chains preferred.
Ability to travel as business needs require.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
