IT – Network Administrator II
Position Summary
The Network Administrator II supports all functional areas of the organization in alignment with plant business objectives. Under direct supervision, this position assists with routine IT operations, problem resolution, and ensuring cybersecurity. This role ensures stable operation of computer networks, including planning, development, installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of all network hardware, software, and communication lines. The position also analyzes and resolves end‑user hardware/software problems, provides user training as needed, and serves as the primary help desk contact for plant IT assets. This role provides remote and on‑site support for the Bridgeport, AL and Cartersville, GA plants and collaborates with Corporate and Regional IT teams.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Follow all plant, departmental, and job safety rules, values, and standards.
Adhere to all USG IT Security policies and procedures.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of safe operating procedures and housekeeping requirements.
Perform essential physical requirements of the job.
Overtime may be required as needed; regular and predictable attendance is essential.
Direct plant IT operations include hardware, software, network, and telephony support.
Manage the plant Active Directory OU including distribution and security group changes.
Support and maintain plant security and monitoring systems including gate and lobby access.
Maintain camera system hardware/software and configure cameras.
Coordinate with IT teams on updates and upgrade projects.
Maintain and update plant network servers.
Troubleshoot and support the IT network to ensure cost‑effective, reliable operations.
Manage IT asset procurement including computers, printers, scanners, and supplies.
Build and manage relationships with equipment vendors.
Support plant telephone, AV, and access control systems.
Install and configure network, hardware, and software systems.
Train plant personnel on IT equipment and software.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or significant work experience and certifications.
Experience/Requirements
Preferred minimum of 5 years of IT support experience (Windows, Desktop, Networking, Data/Voice).
Advanced proficiency in local and wide‑area networks.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with current Microsoft Server and Client OS.
Travel requirements 10–20% depending on plant needs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and provide strong customer service.
Self‑directed and able to work independently.
Proven project management skills.
Ability to learn new technology as needed.
Must be willing to physically work at plant location.

A+ PC Technician
Network+ Technician
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)
Microsoft Certified IT Professional – Server Administrator (MCITP)
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
