Sales Analytics Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
USG is seeking a technically strong, self-driven Sales Analytics Specialist to own and maintain complex Tableau and OBIEE dashboards and published data sources (Oracle ERP, Salesforce, Snowflake, etc.), utilizing advanced SQL and Excel as pragmatic fallbacks to solve any data challenge. This hands-on role validates and reconciles pricing, sales, and order data end-to-end, builds new analytics and enhancements, creates and maintains SOPs/runbooks and documentation, and performs recurring maintenance while prioritizing and delivering on ad-hoc requests. The role supports automation and efficiency improvements, produces repeatable self-service assets, and trains/enables sales and sales-ops teams; requires excellent time management, multitasking, stakeholder communication, and an execution-focused mindset. Minimal travel may be required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following and performs additional responsibilities as assigned:
• Own, maintain and enhance Tableau and OBIEE dashboards and published data sources; prototype and deliver Excel-based analyses as needed.
• Integrate, reconcile and validate data across Oracle ERP (orders/invoicing/pricing), Salesforce (quotes/opportunities/activities), the data warehouse and other sources; document lineage and assumptions.
• Translate business requests into actionable analytics with direction and support from management, utilizing appropriate tools and approaches, and meeting deadlines.
• Develop standard dashboards, reports and published datasets that enable self-service and support pricing and sales decision-making.
• Support analytics standards and scalability through collaboration with Customer Experience analytics leads and Center of Excellence.
• Provide automation and data support to Sales Operations teams (pricing, programs, customer/item setup, Salesforce admins, and EDI owners): handle ad-hoc requests, build repeatable automations, and enable self-service where appropriate.
• Create and maintain documentation (SOPs, runbooks, data dictionaries, user guides, change logs and versioning) for dashboards and data sources to ensure audit-ready controls and governance.
• Manage recurring maintenance and operational tasks (reports, reconciliations, data loads, refresh checks) for reliable execution.
• Support workflow efficiency enhancements in areas where improvement opportunities are recognized; help measure and report results, as guided.
• Troubleshoot data discrepancies and performance issues; coordinate fixes, deployments and performance tuning with IT and verify resolutions.
• Work with management to prioritize competing requests; help communicate progress to stakeholders and escalate issues as directed.
• Train and enable sales, pricing and sales ops teams on dashboards, self-service assets and SOPs; deliver enablement sessions and ensure knowledge transfer.
• Assist in reviewing processes and collecting stakeholder input to help improve accuracy, speed, and usability of analytics.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree required, preference for computer science, business analytics, statistics or a related quantitative field.
Required Skills
• 5+ years of analytics experience in sales, sales operations, finance, pricing, accounting, or a related area, ideally in a manufacturing or building materials.
• Understanding of building materials and manufacturing business processes and concepts
• Advanced proficiency in Tableau (dashboard development, data source design, governance, and performance optimization).
• Skilled in OBIEE (dashboards, subject areas) or demonstrated ability to quickly learn enterprise BI/reporting platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Power Pivot/Data Model, PivotTables, advanced formulas, VBA/macros preferred) with ability to prototype and deliver analyses independently.
• Strong SQL and data-modeling skills to support efficient and accurate data source builds; comfortable querying Oracle and Snowflake; deep understanding of data structure and relationships.
• Experience reconciling and integrating data across Salesforce, ERP systems, and other sources; familiarity with pricing and order-to-cash processes and understanding of customers, products in manufacturing companies.
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities - especially as applied to sales, pricing, and profitability; adept at working with large datasets to generate actionable insights and recommendations.
• Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills; with the ability to handle multiple priorities and shifting demands under tight deadlines.
• Self-driven, reliable, detail-oriented, and able to operate independently with high ownership, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality and data governance.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience training and enabling technical and non-technical audiences; proven ability to produce and maintain SOPs, documentation, and user guides.
• Proactive and solution-oriented, with an aptitude for process improvement and workflow automation
Preferred Skills
• Industry knowledge of USG’s products, business and customer base.
• Building materials or manufacturing industry experience.
• Project management skills.
• Prior experience scaling analytics adoption across sales organizations.
• Exposure to Python/R for data/task automation.
• Experience with ETL tools and BI governance.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
