Mine Maintenance Supervisor

CGC Inc. is currently recruiting for a Mine Maintenance Supervisor for our gypsum plant, based in Hagersville, Ontario.
It's a permanent and full-time position, offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their leadership ability and mechanical expertise in a manufacturing operation within a large corporation.
Reporting to the Mine Maintenance General Foreman, the successful candidate will be responsible for directing the functions required for performing installation work in all facets of the Mine.
Additional responsibilities of the Mine Maintenance Supervisor include:
Directing and coordinating employees, equipment, and materials necessary to ensure safe and efficient maintenance of the Mine department.
Exercising personal safety, promoting and enforcing safety among crew members.
Providing leadership, supervision and training for the maintenance crew.
Recommending the hiring, motivating, and training of hourly personnel, including administering related personnel activities such as operator rate increases, disciplinary actions, and evaluations (PA&D).
Ability to successfully source and supervise subcontractors
Assisting in the development and implementation of USG Model Programs, Safety Rules, JSA’s/VWIs and Standard Operating Procedures, as required.
Assisting with the administration of the RPM Program including supporting, enforcing and implementing all rules and procedures related to the plant’s RPM initiative.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a supervisory role is an asset.
Millwright or equivalent certification is required.
Thorough knowledge of the Company RPM model program.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work with others in a team environment and encourage collaboration and problem solving.
Ability to establish challenging performance standards and hold people accountable.
Must be willing to pursue additional education if required to do so.
May be required to carry a cell phone and be contacted in case of an emergency.
Must be willing and able to assist with interviewing and selecting new mechanics as required.
Hourly wage: $51.64
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
