Calgary Joint Treatment Summer Student

The CGC Calgary location is looking for temporary Joint Treatment operator for the summer during the period of May 1- August 29th, 2026. There may be an opportunity for candidates to start earlier based on availability.
Candidates will be compensated $32.90/hour. No additional benefits will be provided with these temporary positions.
This position offers many challenges to those that wish to exceed their limits in an environment that seeks continuous improvement & innovation. You will report to the department supervisor and your principal functions are:
- Work in Joint Treatment production and quality lab
- Perform general housekeeping duties
- All other related tasks and projects
Qualification:
- Must be a minimum 18 years of age and successfully complete the CGC skill assessment and pre-employment screening requirements.
- Must possess the ability to work safely and effectively in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
- Results oriented and demonstrated strong teamwork abilities.
- Must demonstrate a willingness to work various shifts and any assigned overtime.
- Candidates demonstrating above average safety performance, work performance and meeting all attendance requirements may be considered for future full-time positions at the Calgary plant
- Demonstratable skill to work within a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent time management and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to creatively problem solve with an emphasis on safety within a process driven work environment.
- Strong computer skills, including, Outlook, Word, MS Access, and Excel are required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate small packaging line
- Operate case erector, bag inserter, conveyor system, fill station, bag uncuffer, lid sealer, case sealer, and robot palletizer on the main line
- Place pails and lids on mainline
- Perform accurate and meticulous product testing as outlined in the departmental procedure manuals including but not limited to raw material, finish goods testing, and batch processing.
- Record and document test results in system database and create reports as required.
- Have an ability to recognize and react to adverse trends, non-conforming material, or poor product performance characteristics on manufactured products.
- Document and communicate any variation from standards and maintain records of inspections and non-conforming materials.
- Conduct additional testing and investigations in response to market complaints and determine action items to improve quality performance.
- Collaborate and communicate with production operators, supervisors, and department manager
- Work in a manufacturing setting and follow all plant safety rules and procedures.
- Assist in the operating and auditing of CGC Model Programs, Safety Rules, VWIs/JSAs and Standard Operating Procedures, as required.

- Participation in projects and other tasks as assigned, including but not limited to Lean Six Sigma and other housekeeping.
