Position Summary:
The Market Insights Manager plays a pivotal role in driving strategic marketing decisions by uncovering valuable customer and market intelligence across the North American regions of USG (U.S., Canada, and Mexico). This dynamic position involves designing and implementing robust research projects, analyzing data from multiple sources, and continuously monitoring market and competitor trends. The Market Insights Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to translate research findings into actionable recommendations, supporting marketing campaigns, product development, and customer experience initiatives. Their expertise ensures the organization remains customer-focused and well-positioned in a rapidly evolving marketplace.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
The Market Insights Manager delivers actionable market, customer, and competitive intelligence to guide strategic decisions within the Marketing organization. This role is responsible for designing and executing research projects using qualitative and quantitative methods, such as surveys, interviews, and data analysis, to identify emerging trends and customer needs. The Manager monitors competitor activities, analyzes data from various sources, and creates insightful reports and presentations for stakeholders. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential, ensuring research findings inform marketing, product development, and customer experience strategies while supporting business growth and market positioning.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Market Research:
Design and execute qualitative and quantitative studies to understand customer needs and behaviors. Utilize surveys, focus groups, interviews, UX research methods, and data analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities. Management and utilization of Qualtrics platform including its USG Customer Effort Score operation.
Analyze Customer Data:
Collect and analyze data from CRM, research, and social media to gain a deep understanding of our customer base. Extract actionable insights to support marketing and customer experience initiatives. Both self-managed in-house design and execution, as well research vendor utilized scenarios.
Monitor Competitor Activities:
Stay updated on competitor strategies and product launches. Conduct competitive benchmarking and provide recommendations for effective positioning in the market.
Gain Customer Segment Insights:
Identify key demographic, psychographic, and behavioral attributes of our target customers. Use personas to guide marketing, sales, and product development efforts.
Track Market Trends:
Monitor industry trends and technological advancements. Provide regular updates and make recommendations for adapting strategies to stay ahead of the competition.
Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to share insights and align strategies. Collaborate on projects enhancing customer experience, acquisition, retention, and product offerings. Management of a research repository to aid in collaboration across teams, departments and USG organizations.
Present Insights and Recommendations:
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate insights in a compelling and actionable manner. Collaborate with the team to develop strategies and action plans based on gathered insights.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marketing, market research, or a related field.
Proven methodological research experience.
Proficiency in research methodologies, data collection, and data analysis techniques.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract insights from complex data sets.
Familiarity with market research tools, survey platforms, and data analysis software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
Strategic mindset connecting insights to business objectives and strategies.
Knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in market research and customer insights.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
