POSITION SUMMARY
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements and processes.
Design and propose solutions that meet business needs while ensuring alignment with company goals and strategies.
Analyze business data to uncover, opportunities, and ways for improvement.
Create detailed functional specifications, user stories, and other documentation to support project development and implementation.
Acts as liaison between the business units and IT.
Travel may be required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirements Execution:
Elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation of business requirements through collaboration with internal and external customers.
Recording of requirements through creation of user stories and functional specs.
Refining user stories and estimating them through story points.
Assess proposed solutions to ensure they meet the business requirements.
Identifying project-specific risks throughout the development lifecycle.
Analyze and model existing business processes, and developing new processes that meet the business requirements.
Contributing to prototype development of user application interfaces.
Create reports and write queries, then analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.
Formulate solutions for small to medium projects, participates in projects of all sizes.
Test Execution:
Creation and validation of test scenarios and test cases.
Execution of unit test cases.
Coordination of User Acceptance Testing (UAT), then reporting and communicating UAT metrics.
Execution of UAT test cases.
Communication:
Communication of requirements to counterparts within the IT organization.
Communicating technical constraints, concerns, and other variables identified within IT to the business.
Creation or supporting the creation of training presentations and SOPs.
Provide training to business users and counterparts in the IT organization for process changes, projects changes, or day-to-day activities.
Project Initiation and Planning:
Identifying and defining business needs and areas of improvement.
Identifying project-specific risks throughout the development lifecycle.
Creates low complexity project plans with timelines, resolves problems, controls projects, and ensures deadlines and project budgets are met, when defined as project lead.
Job Knowledge:
Communicates to business constituents in easily understood terms and USG terminology.
Understands data models.
Understands project plans and can clearly articulate roles, project goals, and timelines.
Provides guidance to new and less experienced team members in business analysis skills.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science or related field.
Years of Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of in-depth business experience, with the bulk of that experience serving a business/IT liaison role.
Required Skills:
Experience in business analysis and providing business solutions.
Basic knowledge of systems development cycles, methodologies, and workflow diagramming.
Knowledge of business and technical environments.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in Oracle e-Business Suite/ERP.
Experience with financial processes such as payables, receivables, and general ledger.
Experience leading User Acceptance Testing sessions.
Experience working in the manufacturing industry.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
