Machinist

Hourly payrate $32.23 per hour.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Safe setup and operations of machine shop equipment including, but not limited to: CNC milling machine, manual lathe (boring/turning/threading/polishing), sheet metal sheer, metal brake, pipe treader, radial arm drill press, power broach, band saw and hydraulic presses and cylindrical grinder.
- Perform housekeeping duties within the machine shop.
- Use of measurement devices including micrometers, calipers and veneers.
- Utilizes machine drawings and vendor prints to complete assignments.
- Sets and checks tolerances and fits of sprockets and bearing on shafts. Rebuilds of Gear box.
- Works with maintenance crew on repairs and preventive maintenance tasks, Setups, and Changeovers.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven machining experience is required including lathe and milling machine proficiency.
- Make working safely the top priority, including demonstrating an understanding/compliance with all plant and departmental safety rules.
- Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements necessary for the position.
- Able to negotiate uneven terrain, ramps, steps and ladders.
- Must have ability to understand verbal and written instructions from plant supervision.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment and encourage collaboration and problem solving.
- Must be a self-starter and complete tasks with little guidance or supervision.
- Demonstrate reliable and predictable attendance.
- Maintaining a set of personal tools as required by the Operator Rate Program.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
