CGC Inc. is currently recruiting a Driller for our Gypsum Quarry in Little Narrows, NS! This is a permanent, full-time position reporting to the Blast Supervisor.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operate mobile equipment related to the drilling operation, carrying out inspection and servicing requirements of equipment prior to, and during operation.
• Perform procedures required to drill blast holes to specified depths, measuring location and staking out patterns to be drilled.
• Recognize safety hazards on site and communicate effectively with team members.
• Work and operate outdoors in all weather conditions and seasons.
• Participate in all safety, continuous improvement, and diversity, equity & inclusion activities as they arise.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• A track record of positive safety behaviors, attendance, attitude and work performance with a passion for learning new skills.
• Knowledge of blast pattern rules and regulations with some experience in sampling drill cuttings for testing.
• Previous experience with track-type drills in either production or exploration drilling is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues, make decisions, spot details, and communicate effectively are key.
• High school diploma is required; post-secondary education is not necessary but nice to have.
• Comfortability with basic computer applications is an asset.
