Position Summary
The Manager of Talent Acquisition will lead our experienced recruiting team and drive our talent acquisition strategy. The successful candidate will have people leadership responsibility for a team of recruiters and support staff (8 in-house and 4 contractors) focusing on candidate attraction strategies, building talent pools, driving recruiting performance, and maintaining high standards of candidate and hiring manager experiences that consistently meet hiring goals and organizational objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in executive, professional, and manufacturing recruitment, with a proven track record of attracting and hiring top talent. This role will be responsible for overseeing the entire recruitment process, from sourcing and attracting candidates to ensuring a positive candidate experience and alignment with the company's strategic goals.
This is a hybrid position (currently 2 days/week in office) based in Chicago, IL. Some travel (approximately 10-20%) will be required to support hiring events, campus efforts, and team interactions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of recruiters focused on hiring talent in the US and Canada, including all levels and departments of corporate functions, college programs, sales professionals, as well as salaried and hourly manufacturing positions.
- Design and manage strategic recruiting initiatives that attract talent in critical segments.
- Partner with business leaders and other key stakeholders to understand workforce plans and maintain appropriate recruiter capacity to address hiring needs.
- Present recruiting data, talent market trends, and strategic recommendations to leadership and management teams.
- Track and analyze recruiting metrics to assess team performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Leverage relationships with recruiting agencies for the occasional executive search and other positions as required.
- Manage the recruiting budget for efficiency and results.
- Own and manage the limited existing relationships with temporary staffing firms.
- Drive operationally excellent, predictable and repeatable processes.
- Collaborate on special projects with internal and parent-company colleagues from around the globe.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in recruiting; agency experience a plus.
- 3-5 years of people leadership experience; demonstrated success with coaching, employee development and performance management.
- Experience partnering with external agencies, recruitment marketing and sourcing partners.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to solve complex challenges, utilizing sound judgement, critical thinking and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to use data-driven insights to inform decisions and drive outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues to a range of audiences, including Leadership and influence key stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage recruiting projects from strategy through execution.
- Significant experience working in and leveraging such platforms as Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and LinkedIn.
- High level of comfort with ATS systems; USG currently uses Team Tailor.
- Experience utilizing geo-fenced ads and related analytics is a plus.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
