Purpose of the role
The Recruiting Coordinator:
Manages USG’s and CGC’s pre-employment processes from start to finish for job candidates within all assigned plant locations. The range includes salaried, hourly, campus, sales, corporate and field candidates.
Ensures that all pre-hire background checks, physical and drug screens are scheduled and successfully completed in accordance with USG Corporation’s safety standards and requirements.
Monitors and reviews physical, drug screen and background results and identifies, trouble-shoots and resolves issues which arise during the process.
Provides status updates to recruiters and hiring managers and determines if, and when job candidates are ready to be cleared for onboarding and hire.
Prepares and submits the State of Illinois monthly hiring report.
May assist recruiters with basic sourcing tasks.
This is a hybrid role, two days/week in-office. The office location is Chicago, IL.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule pre-hire physical/drug screen appointments for manufacturing positions at designated clinics and provide candidates with written confirmation and instructions for scheduled clinic visits.
- Initiate pre-hire background checks for required roles.
- Confer with clinics to ensure all required tests are performed in accordance with USG’s pre-hire testing protocols and all required paperwork has been received with results thoroughly documented.
- Monitor, track and review all pre-hire results to determine if candidates successfully meet requirements for clearance.
- Identify any issues or red flags and works with clinics, recruiters, HRBPs and/or plants in situations requiring further action or follow-up.
- Follow up with the Medical Review Officer and USG’s Safety Department on failed drug results to obtain clarification and discuss what, if any next steps or potential remedies or actions need to be implemented.
- Follow up on any issues or discrepancies in background reports. Escalate red flags for management review and determination of next steps.
- Notify HRBP, recruiter and/or plant of situations requiring review/approvals.
- Ensure results have been received, logged in and maintained in required systems for future reference.
- Ensure results are held in strict confidence.
- Other recruiting related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Communicate effectively with all levels within the organization, as well as with external candidates, clinics and vendors.
- Meet deadlines, handle pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment.
- Self-driven with a proactive sense of urgency in all activities.
- Superior organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Fundamental understanding of the basic recruiting process for both professional and hourly positions.
- Proven skills in Microsoft Suite (365) required. Recruitment system (Team Tailor or similar) experience highly desired.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required. Promotional opportunities may require a degree.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
