Title: Second Shift Production Supervisor (Quarry) – Fort Dodge
Shift: Second Shift
Pay rate: $25.45/hour - $30.05/hour
Shift differential: Base rate + $1.50/hour (2nd shift)

Position Summary
Reporting to the Quarry Foreman, the Quarry Production Supervisor is a supervisory position whose primary responsibility is to create a safe and effective production team following all rules and regulations of USG, MSHA and other governing bodies. This position is responsible for daily quarry mining operations, which includes following the stripping and mining plan, drilling and blasting operations, recording production data, and problem solving in relation to daily operations and meeting the weekly production goals.
Basic Accountabilities:
- Enforce plant safety and MSHA rules and policies.
- Supervise and direct activities of the hourly production crew.
- Ability to communicate effectively and practice dignity and respect towards co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
- Assist in developing a Production Operator Rate Program including:
- Training check sheets, essential physical requirements (EPR), visual work instructions.
- Work with Maintenance to schedule and execute daily work order schedules.
- Ability to ensure the safe operation of mobile and mechanical equipment by completing review of all equipment before operating.
- Work with computers and other control screens.
- Have knowledge or be able to use the RPM/EAM program to enter work orders.
- Supervise contractors and ensure safe, and efficient work.
- Ability to provide technical support for equipment selection and replacement.
- Ability to pass the required ATF background checks to be certified and listed as a Responsible Person for the Quarry’s Federal Explosives License.
- Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
- This is a designated emergency personnel position.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends.
- Must be available for overtime and call-ins as needed.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Able to communicate to all levels of the organization.
- Capable of delivering training one-on-one and in group settings.
- General computer skills and knowledge.
Key Qualifications
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of USG Safety and the Mine Safety & Health Administration and the regulations pursuant to the State of Iowa.
- Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
