National A&D Manager- Ensemble

Purpose of the role
The National A&D Sales Manager, Ensemble will work with the Ceilings business and sales teams to drive Ensemble specifications across the U.S. The role will increase collaboration across regions – and across the sales team – to maximize the organization’s success with architects and designers (A&D) and specification writers, mainly, as well as the distribution channel and contractors. The goal is to gain more preferred project specifications [e.g., proprietary or Basis of Design (BOD)] and office master specifications for annuity business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Continue the momentum of the Ensemble business by focusing on key markets and key firms, and leading specification efforts through collaboration with regional sales teams.
- Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to develop targeted firms in each focus market, as well as close specified work with distributors and contractors to achieve financial goals.
- Assist in aligning teams on strategic focus to drive ready-to-bid work and gain a preferred specification position.
- Align with manager on national specification efforts to understand trends and leverage them, the latest digital technologies, etc., to fulfill best practices.
- Leverage Salesforce and Construct Connect data as inputs to selling efforts and reporting back to the business.
- Guide top opportunities nationally and lead specification efforts with key A&D accounts.
- Collaborate with Marketing as an industry influencer for awareness programs and standards initiatives.
- Align with product management on content development, programming opportunities, sales enablement and thought leadership.
- Participate and drive influence within well-known industry organizations, such as AIA, IIDA, USGBC, and CSI.
- Work with the new Ceilings training lead and the USG L&D (Learning & Development) team to identify and meet development needs of sales professionals.
- Indirectly mentor and coach newer A&D sales professionals with oversight from manager and RSMs.
Strategy:
- Assist in developing and maintaining the Ensemble architectural sales strategy.
- Be an A&D thought leader, or ambassador, within the BU and USG, at large.
- Assist in determining budget and resource allocation for A&D initiatives specific to Ensemble, with alignment with manager on broader-based work.
- Embrace the new Commercial Excellence work, embody and evangelize it across the eight regions.
- Fulfill the established KPIs from sales leadership with additional stretch opportunities identified in LEAD.
- Be a “power user” of Salesforce and drive engagement and accountability from the regional sales teams.
Analysis & Programs:
- Conduct quarterly and monthly analysis of specifications and identify focus markets.
- Interface and analyze performance of top A&D customers and projects.
- Work with Marketing to align product-specific marketing programs and campaigns with goals.
Qualificaitons
- Bachelor’s degree in technical, business, architecture or interior design, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of functional experience in architectural sales or similar area.
- Good understanding of customer dynamics in architectural building products.
- Experience in cross-functional task forces or teams.
- Respected within his/her field.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. Needs to have an ability to collaborate and mobilize a diverse sales team, in positive ways.
- Advanced ability to take initiative, strategize and mobilize, work independently, manage aggressive schedules, and set priorities. Self-motiviation and accountability are critical.
- Willingness to travel across the U.S. approximately 50% of the time.
- Strong presentation and professional selling skills.
- Fluency in SalesForce.com, Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Teams.
- US-based location is at the discretion of the hiring manager.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
