Plant Safety/Training Coordinator

Position Summary
The Plant Safety/Training Coordinator is responsible for the overall organization and execution of new and existing employee training and development programs. The coordinator will use existing training documentation and develop new material as needed to ensure regulatory compliance and the availability of a skilled workforce to support the needs of the business. The coordinator will lead the plant safety team while organizing and leading safety functions assigned to the safety team.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities Skill and Knowledge Management:
• Collaborate with supervision to develop a training plan for all hourly personnel
• Maintain all training materials, including training plans, job descriptions, essential physical requirements, and visual work instructions.
• Maintain all USG-required training records and assist in compliance with all federal and state/provincial regulations (OSHA, MSHA, DOT, DOL, MOL, etc.)
• Maintain a plant training matrix and ensure staff receive skill (e.g., machinery, mobile equipment, trades, etc.), leadership (e.g., Directions), and safety training (e.g., hazard communication, lockout tagout, etc.) prior to assignment.
• Collaborate with supervision to monitor employee progress through Operator Rate Program Model Programs/Annual Safety and Engagement Plans:
• Supports model program administrators to ensure requirements are satisfied.
• Assist with the development of corrective actions and the completion of required remediation to ensure full compliance.
• Supports the execution of the plant’s annual safety plan.
• Leads the plant’s safety team.
Incident Reporting, Investigation, and Trend Analysis:
• Supports the incident investigation process to ensure root and contributing causes are identified and appropriate corrective and preventative actions are taken.
• Tracks and follows up on the status of corrective actions associated with injury/illness and significant near misses.
• Supports the oversight of local CORE maintenance, including key report generation and serving as an on-site resource around training needs.
• Help drive the efforts needed to entrench the BBS module in CORE to ensure priority focus on the observation of safe and at-risk behaviors, SAR, and Other Audits:
• Organizes and maintains documentation to support compliance with SAR requirements.
• Monitors the completion of required inspections per the SAR.
• Tracks and follows up on the status of corrective actions associated with SAR audits to drive continuous safety improvement.

• Prior experience in developing Visual Work Instructions
• Experience with MSHA/OSHA regulations
Hourly Salary/Pay Range: Coordinator 1…. $35.05
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
