Job Title: Process Engineer
Role & Responsibilities:
· Executes daily administrative tasks within a manufacturing plant with a particular focus on managing the coordination, implementation and standardization of continuous improvement projects within the plant.
· Utilize statistical tools to analyze process data and address process variability.
· Monitors and makes recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
· Researches and identifies fiscally sound potential projects and then uses established leadership skills to build, develop and lead teams to execute a solution for the project.
· Incumbent must be willing/able to obtain USG Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Incorporates safety into all aspects of the department to ensure safe working conditions during all activities associated within the manufacturing environment.
· Responsible for monitoring day to day process activity and recommending improvements to maximize efficiency to include waste, speed, delay and raw material usage.
· Manage the coordination, implementation and standardization of manufacturing process improvements. Establish and utilize Standard Operating Procedures.
· Responsible for supporting new technology, implementing trial plans and being the primary contact with Corporate Process engineering for process optimization.
· Responsible for leading cross functional teams assembled to address process variability.
· Responsible for training line personnel regarding the function and control of key process variables.
· Leads Plant 5S Program. Includes training of team members and sustainability of.

· Decisive; doesn’t procrastinate on decisions. Sets priorities well; distinguishes clearly between important and unimportant tasks.

Possesses effective interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels to maintain relationships and cooperation in pursuing the Business Unit’s Lean Six Sigma goals. Qualifications & Requirements:
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Certification Requirements
· Must successfully complete the USG Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Process
Years of Experience
· Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Required Skills
· Strong analytical, communication and decision-making skills
· Self-starter, with excellent organizational and project management skills.
· Ability to utilize advanced problem-solving techniques such as SPC, control charts, Pareto charts, process cycle time, fishbone diagrams, flow charting and process balancing
· Strong IT competency in Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
