CGC Inc. Is currently recruiting a Mechanical Foreman for our Wheatland County (Carseland), Alberta plant.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Train and maintain a skilled workforce to ensure efficient operations aligned with company objectives.
- Oversee a team of approximately 7 employees.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations (CGC, Provincial, Federal).
- Promote a safe work culture and ensure employees are fit for work.
- Support and evaluate the operator rate program.
- Lead daily maintenance activities to ensure efficient equipment operation.
- Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement using CI Tools (Reflection Boards, CI Cards, Area Boards, Gemba walks).
- Provide constructive coaching to employees.
- Maintain the Plant RPM program and prioritize scheduled work.
- Plan and supervise work, including methods, manpower, materials, and schedules.
- Ensure productivity, efficient use of resources, and compliance with specifications and budgets.
- Ensure completed work meets standards.
- Assist with RPM program administration.
- Identify and facilitate additional training needs.
- Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Address and resolve departmental issues.
- Handle administrative tasks as required by Maintenance General Foreman or Maintenance & Engineering Manager
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Journeyman Millwright, Mechanical, or equivalent ticket is required.
- Demonstratable leadership, communication (verbal and written), decision making, and soft skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Able to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Capable of delivering training one-on-one and in group settings.
- Strong computer skills.
- Must be able to maintain positive relationships and seek to achieve conflict resolution for self and reports in a timely manner and with positive intent.
- Must be willing to provide accountable feedback to reports/peers/supervisor in a timely and respectful manner with the intentions of positive outcomes that are in the best interest of the company.
- Establish and maintain open communications with peers across USG and CGC to establish and share best practices.
- Periodic travel may be required (US/CAN)
Additional Information:
Schedule - Monday-Friday on-site role, 8-hour workdays
Pay - CAD $67,080 - $89,400 per annum
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. This position is eligible for overtime beyond the base pay.
