Sales & Use Tax Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales & Use Tax Analyst will be responsible for all sales & use tax matters, including performing tax research on state and local tax matters, tax planning, implementation, due diligence, tax compliance, supporting the Tax Department with tax audits, tax account reconciliations, and maintenance of tax software. This position works closely with the Finance team and other departments to obtain and analyze data for accurate and timely reporting of Sales & Use Tax information for the United States and Canada.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with sales & use, gross receipts, business licenses, and other miscellaneous tax obligations.
- Deliver a full range Sales & Use tax services including tax research, preparation of technical memorandums, drafting correspondence.
- Conduct reviews of Sales & Use tax returns for accuracy and timely filing and payments.
- Timely prepare and perform tax-relevant account reconciliations.
- Oversee reviews that analyze sales & use tax exemptions, and credits.
- Maintain accurate records for issuing and maintaining supplier and customer exemption certificates.
- Assist with sales & use tax audits, including gathering and preparing necessary documentation.
- Responsible for regular maintenance and updating the Sales Tax software.
- Keep detailed records of all tax-related transactions and activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
- 1-3 years previous accounting and multistate sales & use tax experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Oracle and Vertex tax software preferred.

- Possess strong research, writing skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability and desire to perform in a high-energy, dynamic environment.
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts and provide high-quality deliverables accurately and on time.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.
- Ability to formulate and articulate viewpoints (written and verbal) in a clear, persuasive, and succinct manner.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customers.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
